Are you looking
for a Christian community in Las Vegas?
A network of people interested in contemplative practices is happening in the Las Vegas Valley. A contact list of those interested is being developed through quiet mornings of sharing contemplative practices in local churches, usually on the 3rd Saturday Morning of the month. Several from CFDM are spearheading this with support from many churches and organizations. So far, the GOING DEEPER Days have been held in Episcopal, Presbyterian, Lutheran, and Catholic Churches. We have explored lectio divina, the ancient monastic practice of slowing down and meditating on Scripture, the Examen from Ignatius of Loyola; various forms of meditation, including Centering Prayer, and other contemplative practices that help us slow down, wake up, and be present to the moment, to the God who is always present to us.
To be on the contact list for future Going Deeper Days, send an email to Ken Larson at klarsonsd at gmail.com.
Greetings!

This new Centering Prayer group is affiliated with the Going Deeper Program that Ken Larson/Douglas Gregg have been facilitating in the LV Area. The community is expanding its Centering Prayer gathering opportunities for those living in the Summerlin Area. If you’re interested in being part of a Monday evening prayer experience in Northwest Las Vegas, please contact me drbjwinston at gmail.com.
*You are invited to join us on Saturday, February 15 from 9:00 AM to Noon for reflection on Boundless Compassion & Kinship as expressed by Father Greg Boyle, a Jesuit priest and founder of Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles. Our gathering will be at Stillpoint Center for Spiritual Development, 8072 West Sahara Avenue, Las Vegas 89117. We will be using images and words from Father Boyle’s event at UNLV on February 8, 2020 as well as Jesus’ words for our reflection, meditation, prayer, and sharing.
You may register for this event through Stillpoint at 702-243-4040. If you have any questions, please contact me at 702-675-5690 (call or text).
We will be requesting a free-will donation to cover expenses for events.
