Rick Irish is a retired Presbyterian minister (PCUSA) residing near Greenleaf, Idaho, with his wife, Barb, and with children and grandchildren nearby.  He is a graduate of the CFDM Certification Program in Christian Formation and Spiritual Direction, now serving as regional coordinator and as a faculty member for CFDM.  A graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary with Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees, Rick has served as a pastor, counselor and Presbytery executive.   Having found his “second calling” as a spiritual director, he experiences great delight in helping others identify and follow the movement of God in their lives and wishes to support those who desire to enter the ministry of spiritual direction.

Two recent participants in the CFDM program from Southwestern Idaho, Dick Green and Bruce Swanson, are available to talk about their experiences.

Richard is an ordained Presbyterian Pastor who is presently serving as the Associate Pastor of the Eastwind Community Church of Boise, ID.  He has over 39 years of experience in pastoral ministry in three different churches before coming to Boise.  Richard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology, a Master of Divinity Degree and a Doctor of Ministry Degree.  In November of 2014 he completed a 2 year certificate program in Spiritual Direction from CFDM.   On September 1 of 2015 he will finish his current work at the Eastwind Church to pursue a full time ministry in spiritual direction, training spiritual directors, spiritual direction supervision and coaching spiritual formation.   Richard and his wife Dena, who have been married for 44 years, have two grown children who live in southern California.
